SEC pushes for contact details in the Edgar System

According to the Dec 12th, 2016 announcement by the SEC, their EDGAR system will implement a new two phase authentication for Passphrase reset. It is recommended that filers update their contact details on the Edgar system at the earliest before SEC’s update to EDGAR system. The Passphrase is required to generate a new CCC (CIK Confirmation Code), PMAC and a password for secure login to EDGAR filings with SEC.

To reset a passphrase a security code is sent to the filers’ contact address registered within the Edgar system. On failing to update the contact details on time, the filer would need to submit a request to update contact detail on the company letterhead or through a Power of Attorney (PoA). This process could take over 48 hours and could delay the 2017 Q1 filing.

We, therefore, recommend all SEC registrants to update their contact details with SEC online immediately. If you need any clarification, we at DataTracks, are happy to assist you.
